Digital Functional Skills joins our Essential Digital Skills qualifications as a part of the Department of Education (DfE) for developing digital skills.

Digital Functional Skills Qualifications with TLM are available at Entry Level 3 and Level 1 and are ready for teaching immediately. These qualifications, funded by the government in England, are accessible to individuals lacking the digital skills required for present-day society, including the professional environment.

Working closely with our Welsh Schools, we have developed a support package for Cross Curriculum and Recognition of Prior Learning. Allowing you to use those Presentations, Word documents and Spreadsheets already completed as part of your evidence for learners.

The Department for Education (DfE) is committed to helping people gain the necessary digital skills for life and work at Entry and level 1.

These standards will form part of the New Digital Functional Skills (DFS) that will be available for first teaching in August 2023.

Digital Functional Skills Qualifications (DFSQ) will enable students to initiate and participate in digital and online activities safely in the workplace and other real-life contexts. At this level, DFSQs should:

• enable students to gain confidence and fluency in their use of digital knowledge and skills, and develop a positive attitude towards the use of digital skills;
• enable students to develop an appreciation of the importance of digital skills in the workplace and in life generally;
• enable students to demonstrate their knowledge and skills by applying these to complete tasks and activities; and
• provide a basis for further study, work and life

TLM is hosting a malpractice and maladministration webinar for centres with TLM centre status.

The Learning Machine (TLM) are regulated by Ofqual and Qualifications Wales, and they require us to have in place arrangements for the approval of Centres delivering our qualifications and for the management and appropriate quality assurance of the delivery of those qualifications by our Centres. This includes the appropriate management of malpractice and maladministration.
